Saturday, December 11
10:00 AM -- 5:00 PM Annual Hessian Occupation Day at the Old Barracks. The
Old Barracks kicks off the 228th anniversary of the December 1776-January
1777 campaign with its annual Hessian Occupation of Trenton. Hessian
re-enactors fill the Museum's Parade Ground as they train, march and make
preparations for the Battles of Trenton.Historically, the village of Trenton
was occupied by the Rall, von Lossberg and von Knyphausen regiments for
three weeks in December 1776. During this time they patrolled the
surrounding area, set up outposts and kept patrols on the lookout for the
American rebels. On the morning of December 26, 1776, Washington took
advantage of their failure to fortify the northern end of down and the first
Battle of Trenton took place. 396-1776 for more information

Dec. 27 -- January 2 Trenton will celebrate Patriot's Week. Stay tuned for
details on a week-long celebration of the Capital City's Revolutionary Past
that culminates with the reenactments of the Battles of Trenton, on Sunday,
